Get quick help with the gas boiler breakdown

Heating your home isn’t that much of a problem in the summer, but unless you’re in the strange habit of only taking cold showers and boiling the kettle every time you wash up, you could be left high and dry if your heating boiler breaks down. It is strange though that the boiler is never considered to be an important piece of equipment until it stops working. And then you realise how important, not to mention expensive, it really is.

For those of you who are renting, of course you don’t have to worry about repairs and maintenance as the responsibility lies with your landlord and they probably will have landlords central heating system cover. But if you own your home, a little money kept aside every month as an emergency fund will come in handy in such a gas boiler failure if you do not decide to invest in boiler insurance.

Instead of repairing a ten year old gas boiler, consider installing a newer and more efficient system which could significantly cut down your utility bills and pay for itself in a number of years. The type of central heating system that you should buy depends on your family size and the available space at your home, the existing boiler also affects your choice. If you have a small home with few people and do not want to wait for hot water then a combi gas boiler is your best option. This heating boiler heats up the water through the mains as used and therefore a storage tank is not required. With such a combi boiler, a hot shower is instantly available; however if another hot outlet is opened, your share of warm water will quickly run out and you shower could be a cold one.

A single storage tank is used in a sealed system central heating boiler usually placed in an upstairs airing cupboard enabling a large number of people to have multiple showers and taps on the go at once, without compromising hot water availability or water pressure. It is quite easy to install the system heating boiler and it can also easily fit into your home. However, because of the storage tank, hot water isn’t instant and can run out if used too quickly.

Older models of boilers are generally of open vent type – requiring a couple of loft mounted water tanks as well as a storage section installed in an airing cupboard. This has similar benefits and disadvantages to the sealed systems as it enables several taps to be used at once, but you will have to wait for the water to heat and pressure is sometimes an issue.

A Back heating boiler is another gas boiler which provides good water pressure, allows several water outlets but occupies quite a bit of space. The space inside a chimney breast is often used to accommodate a back boiler; but installing a new back central heating boiler system to replace another type of boiler is not cost effective. But if your home had a back gas boiler installed when you moved in, it can save you a lot of money; if it needs replacing, it’s far cheaper to get a new back central heating system to replace and old one than it is to get a completely different system installed.

Whichever central heating boiler your home has, it can be costly to repair. A heating boiler insurance policy can help a great deal by easing your repair costs in case your heating system fails at some point. A gas boiler insurance policy including coverage for yearly central heating boiler inspections and emergency servicing for repairs will go a long way in reducing your annual boiler maintenance expenses.
