Enhance your gas heating system with a new central heating boiler

We should all prepare for the winter months as the weather gets colder and the days shorter by having good central heating in our homes. By centrally heating your home, you can make it more comfortable, inviting and relaxing.

In general, two types of gas central heating systems exist, one that’s pumped and the other with a vented system; but a heating boiler, radiator and pipework make up the component parts of most heaters.

Pumped systems are probably the more common ones and their main part is a feed expansion tank which acts as the centre core by heating up itself first to subsequently warm up the heaters via the pipe work. The expansion tank might fill up at times because of water expansion.

The vented system on the other hand is a sealed system where there is no core heating. It is basically a closed system, and for this reason, there is no need of water tanks. This system offers a major benefit in that it reduces the risk of leakage and prevents other hazards such as airlocks; colder countries like Russia can reap great benefits from this systems since it avoids the risk of frozen pipes.

Tell me why I should get central heating?.

One of the greatest advantages of gas central heating is its capability to increase the temperature inside a home or office very quickly without creating any noticeable effects in the air immediately surrounding you. Traditional heaters like gas fires, electric heaters and storage heaters are also quite effective. However these heaters had a smell around them and they also affected the surrounding air, making it less pleasant as an internal environment.

The central heating systems are free from all these drawbacks but they need regular maintenance to keep them functioning reliably. Many households only use their gas central heating during the cold months and leave them entirely unused during the summertime, this is a common error. Instead, as the weather begins to change, you should use it by degrees in order to spot any problems and give you time to call an heating plumber before winter.

Airborne dust and other contaminants can also seep into the gas central heating system, necessitating periodic drainage and cleansing. To flush the system, open the valve carefully and drain the collected water into a bucket, while ensuring that no further water gets into the heating system.
